A great way of budget shopping in Cape Town is at the markets held at various places, normally on weekend mornings. You can do some clothes shopping, buy gifts and curios to take home with you or just spend a leisurely morning browsing around. 

Hout Bay Market

This market is held each week ona Sunday on the Village Green along Hout Bay's Main Road and has a wide variety of African curios and wire crafts as well as pottery, Ostrich eggs and wooden sculptures. There are even pony rides for the kids!

The Old Biscuit Mill

 The Old Biscuit Mill is more than a market. It is a small village in the middle of a suburb called Woodstock on the outter limits of the Cape Town CBD. On Saturdays it hosts the 'NeighbourGoods Market' and Sunday the 'Vintage Fair'. During the week it is a vibrant home to offices, designer shops, workshops and much more.

Open every Saturday from 9am to 2pm, this market boasts an array of fresh produce, wood fired fresh breads, organic foods, handmade cheeses, luxury beers as well as vintage clothes, local designers, live music and much much more!

Vintage Fair

The Vintage Fair has something for everyone; from 1960's posters to home furnishings to hand-made crafts, you will not leave empty handed. Be sure to find that 'different' gift to take home with you.

Operating every Sunday from 9am to 4pm, the Vintage Fair is said to be Head and Shoulders above any other market in Cape Town and the quality of merchandise sold shows this.
